Receiving — Overview¶
Receiving is where warehouse staff confirm that expected packages have physically arrived. CustomerManager offers four receiving methods so you can pick whichever matches how the packages are arriving.
Accessing Receiving¶
In the sidebar, click Packages → Receive Packages, then choose a method:

| Receive by Package | Scanning packages one at a time as they arrive, with no manifest to match against |
| Receive by Date | Working through a full manifest of everything expected on a given ship date |
| Receive by Container | Receiving everything expected in a specific container |
| Receive by Shipment | Receiving everything expected in a specific shipment |
Common Behavior¶
Across all four methods:
- Scanning or entering a tracking number looks the package up and immediately records the receive event — there's no separate "confirm" step.
- If the same tracking number is scanned twice, it's flagged as a Duplicate rather than silently ignored.
- If a tracking number can't be matched to anything expected, it's flagged as an Exception.
- A running list of everything scanned in the current session is kept on-screen so you can review your work as you go.
Tip
Keep the tracking number field focused (click into it once) so a barcode scanner can feed tracking numbers in continuously without you needing to click between scans.
